Forever Girl Blog Tour

My Passion for Reading
by Rebecca Hamilton

I don’t remember learning to read. I know I was reading sometime before I started elementary school, though, and for as long as I remember, I was “a reader”. I read everything—not just books, but pretty much anything I could find with words on it. Shampoo bottles, cereal box packaging, those little silicone packets that come in a pair of brand new sneakers…you know, the kind of stuff you usually read while shopping, not after you bring the product home.

I read while snuggled up on my couch, while walking to school, even while the teachers were teaching math or science or what have you. (Thankfully, I actually learn best with several structured things happening at once, so long as no one thing DEMANDS my attention.)

In sixth grade, I had this one teacher—Mr. Jamet—who was perhaps the first teacher ever to accept this quality about me.  Many conversations took place between him and me, mostly because I used to bombard him first thing in the morning to tell him about whatever unimportant thing I thought was really important at the time. This usually resulted in him asking me to please wait until he’d had his coffee.

Yeah, I guess I can be a bit much to take first thing in the morning.

There is one conversation that I remember, however. I was sitting at my desk reading with a book hidden in my lap while Mr. Jamet went over our homework.

“Shana,” he said (because that’s my real name), “can you please repeat what I just said?”

I don’t think he was expecting me to repeat everything he’d said, verbatim, over the last two minutes. I got about twenty seconds in, and he said that was enough, then moved on with his efforts.

After class, he called me over to his desk and told me that as long as I’m paying attention and getting good grades and not disrupting the class, I was free to read at my desk during class.

So I did. I did it in his class and every class after that. I don’t remember ever really paying attention in school—not directly—and my memories of how I spent my childhood are more about THE DOOM SLIDE (Goosebumps, choose your own adventure), and unicorns and magical amulets, or two girls hidden in their neighbors closet who witness him murdering a young woman. Much more exciting than watching someone write on a chalkboard all day.

(Yes, I’m getting old. They used chalkboards when I was in school. Not Dry-Erase)

My passion for reading continues to this day. I don’t know where it came from, but when I have free time, there’s nothing I’d rather do.

FOREVER GIRL Blurb

Sophia Parsons' family has skeletons, but they aren't in their graves.

The cult in BelleMeadow will do anything to get their hands on Sophia's house, even burn her out of it if necessary. Sophia believes she can gain their acceptance without giving them her house--if only she could come across a little more normal. Maybe then they wouldnt view her Wiccan religion as a demonic practice.

There's one thing standing in her way. A hissing noise in her mind that makes her flighty and distracted. In her search for answers, she discovers a link between her own affliction and one of her ancestors--a woman convicted of being a witch during the Salem witch trials.  A woman whose body has been missing ever since the hanging.

Sophia doesn't know that someone in her life wants her to solve this mystery for all the wrong reasons. Someone wants Sophia to join a race of dark supernaturals she never knew existed: the Cruor. When this person nearly kills her, Sophia realizes the only way to unveil the source of her family's curse is to perform dark magic or become a murderer herself.

Where does the road to Hell begin?

What happens when your son turns homicidal overnight and your husband disappears on his way to work? Do you cower in fear or fight for your life? Madison Wescott fights against the odds. Distrustful of a God she doesn't believe in, she finds herself face-to-face with a world she didn't know existed and discovers her own soul is darkened with demonic connections.

With good intentions? Or by demonic design?

Phoenix Birmingham bursts into Madison’s life in a whirlwind of sarcasm and sexual appeal. A hero for the masses—and for her jaded heart—but few will ever know the sacrifices he has made or the sacrifices to come. Discovering her entire life has been influenced by multifaceted paranormal beings, Madison is determined to defeat the apocalyptic blueprint fate has decreed, but only one man dares to challenge the supernatural forces manipulating them. Even with Phoenix's aid, can destiny be denied? Or will demonic design prevail while they pay the crucial price with their souls?

In a small, sleepy Alabama town the battle for mankind's liberty has begun...

RELEASED TODAY (2/17/12)!!!

Hell’s Phoenix Blurb (book 2):

Hell’s become more than just a playground for the wicked…

Going to Hell was supposed to save Madison, but knowing she’s dead because of his failure leaves Nix with only one thing to live for. Revenge. With Micah’s help he learns to use his Messianic power. Anything for Mads has become his mantra, even if it means killing innocents to gather the power he needs to succeed. A tsunami he unleashes on a Gulf Coast city is stopped with magical interference, and Nix is more than surprised to feel Madison in the opposing magic. Can he and Micah set a trap to lure her out?

Pandora’s Box…once you open it, there’s no turning back!

Madison has done the unthinkable, opened Pandora’s Box to save Nix from Hell. And failed. She’s willing to risk her own life to rescue Nix, but she worries about the welfare of her accomplice in the mission and leaving her son behind. Following up on a lead, she’s ambushed by Nix and Micah. Shocked and hurt to discover Nix has become a willing participant of Hell, she’s more certain than ever she won’t escape the demonic fate her husband outlined for her. While in Hell, she discovers denying the emergence of her succubus is futile, which means getting Nix out of Hell after embracing her inner demon just became a very real dilemma…

Supernatural Imagination

Please welcome VelvetRoxXx with a warm Hellhound growl...or a whimper, lick, or playful nip. She's hard at work on her first novel, More than Human...but you didn't come here to read my chatter. You came to get to know VelvetRoxXx! So, I'll let her take it away...

Vampires. I must admit, like any other gal out there who adores the supernatural world. I love my vampires. Vampires are like eggs. They have been written about in many ways. Yeah, fried, died and laid to the side. Seriously, there are so many things you can write about in the vampire genre while putting your own spin on it. While I love my vampires and have many stories on my hard drive about them, I'm seeking to write something unique.

Dragon shifters. Oh yeah, how unique is that? Well, these fellas are heavily underrated in my opinion. While there are some books out there about dragon shifters, there don't seem to be as many books as there are about the vamps.

Dragons are sexy, hell yeah they are. Just the other day while running errands I could have sworn I came across a dragon shifter. Yes, a real live dragon shifter. Some of you may think. Now that gal has totally lost her ever- loving freaking mind! No seriously. C'mon. Use a little imagination here. This is what inspired me to write about More Than Human. I've discovered several things about dragon shifters, too many to list here:

1. Whenever you're in close proximity, the heat rolls off them in waves. Yes, seriously.

2. They growl. Ever been near someone and hear them growl? I mean a deep, guttural growl??

3. They're marked with tats and symbols of their sign.

Sometimes I see things. No, not dead people. I see energy in a person's aura. At times the energy level is normal, but man sometimes it's powerful and overwhelming...,which leads me to believe. Oh yeah, there are definitely supernatural creatures surrounding us....

Have you ever walked past a person and were immediately captivated by them? I mean you just had to stop and think…hmmm? There’s something about him/her that I just can’t put my finger on. They just seem to intrigue you a bit.

I think maybe I'm just a little intrigued or my muse may be kicking into overdrive. Yeah, I'll go with that. But, you must admit that your mind tends to wander about certain people, places or things that may cross your path.
Thanx my friends and thank you Gracen for having silly ole me on board today.

Totally not crazy,

VelvetRoxXx

More than Human Blurb

There’s something about Tori’s boss, Bane McNamara. He’s no ordinary man. Whenever he’s near, she’s driven mad with desire for him. Unfortunately for Tori, she’s not his type. At least, she thinks she isn’t.

Dragon shifter, Bane wants Tori with every ounce of his being but he must protect her at all costs. Letting her in on his secret identity too soon may cause problems for them both.

Thrust in a difficult situation, Bane fights to protect Tori from an old nemesis and claim her before anyone else does. However, claiming the fiery raven-haired vixen means she must fully embrace his identity while accepting an even darker secret of her own.

More than Human Excerpt

“Accept it Tori.” Bane spoke softly. “I hear your thoughts. If you weren’t my true mate, I wouldn’t be able to hear what you’re thinking.”

“You’re my Fire Mate.” He seemed to growl as he entwined his fingers in her hair. She barely winced while the man fisted a large amount of her tresses and jerked her head backwards, baring his neck to him.

“I’m confused. I—don’t understand!”

Releasing her hair, he lifted her into his arms and carried her over to the couch. “No need to understand, he spoke huskily. “Feel!” He tossed her onto the sofa and began stripping the clothes from his body.

He reached for her, almost ripping the silk robe from her body. Something seemed to push the air from her lungs as she fought for breath. Realizing she was naked as a jaybird, she covered her stomach.

“Oh no you don’t!” Bane snarled. “You need to be restrained,” he suggested in an animalistic voice. “Don’t you ever hide your body from me!”

Suddenly, a silk sash appeared, and tied her hands together. An invisible force soon had her arms above her head. Did she want to stop him? "Bane!" She didn’t recognize her voice as her own.

He gazed at her naked body as he explored her curves. While he explored her thighs, she shuddered. Tori tried sucking her stomach in when his hand glided over her tummy bulge.

“Don’t do that,” he growled against her ear. He continued the seductive exploration of her body. “By the Dragon gods, you’re such a beautiful woman.

She was shocked. Her body didn’t turn him off? She looked into his eyes, but all she saw was his desire heightening. He lingered at the faint stretch marks. Astonished, she watched as he stroked the areas lovingly, nuzzling against her flesh. She hated her stretch marks, but obviously the man worshipped her body.

Tori’s hips lifted off the couch as he kissed and licked her rounded belly. Pleasure shot through her entire body. “Bane.” She crooned. She watched as her boss continued working his way to the place she desired most. She gasped when he reached her spot. Tori almost leapt off the sofa. “Bane!” She heard him growl. This time she wasn't imagining things. Immediately, three words came to mind. Sexy. Hot. Inhuman.

More Than Human will be available some time in March.

Demon's Slave Blog Tour

AN INTERVIEW WITH THE BLACK DOG

After the success I had with my interview with Rose, I decided that it was appropriate that I interview her lover, Skriker, to continue in the same vein and turn the heat up a little bit. I have thrown in some more interesting questions, with the hopes that our half-demon bad boy will thrill us with some tidbits we have never heard before. Enjoy!

DANI: Welcome, Skrike. I’m so thrilled to have you back…and I’m sure all your lady fans are, too!

SKRIKER: Always tasty as punch to see you, Dani baby. And hellooooooo to all my lovely ladies! Sweet kisses to each and every one of you…especially my Angie girl down in Oz. (He blows a juicy kiss and laughs robustly.)

DANI: Okay, let’s get started. I’ve tried to mix it up a little with the questions this time. What was the happiest moment of your life? The saddest?

SKRIKER: I know that Rose gave you two happiest memories in her interview a few days ago. I also have two happiest memories. The first would be the day my little brother, Rory, was born. My mom had both of us at home—you don’t give birth to a demon’s kid in a hospital—and my dad and I helped her. I was seven when my wee bro came along, and I recall being so excited I nearly pissed myself. I was proud as shit to help with the delivery, and after Roar came out and was a cleaned up and bundled tight, I was allowed to hold him. He was the spitting image of my dad: jet black hair, intense dark eyes. Completely my opposite as far as physical looks go. But that kid meant the world to me…I was so proud to be a big brother. I remember that he stuck his little tongue out at me as I held him, and it was black and forked, like mine and my dad’s when we morph. We were thick as thieves from the get-go. (He averts his eyes, and they gleam with tears.)

DANI: That’s so sweet. I have a little sister—she’s my opposite, too, but I love her to death. There’s something really special about being an older sibling and having the honor of helping them grow up. At least you got to enjoy some fun times with him.

SKRIKER (chuckling as he wipes his eyes): You bet, baby. Now, my other happiest memory involves Rose, of course. It was the first time she ever came over to my place. It was about three weeks after we had done the Paradise Hill run and had shacked up at her place after—you remember, when her dad magically appeared and tried to kill me? Anyway, she kind of disappeared on me for a few weeks…I didn’t hear from her or see her at all, and I was convinced that she did indeed just up and vanish on me, and I would never see her again. Hardest three weeks of my life. I called her over and over, and she never picked up. I just knew that was it; that I’d lost her. She had chickened out because I was half-demon. Then, finally, just after I’d given up, she showed up at my door one night around dinnertime with a bottle of wine and an overnight bag. Almost gave me heart failure, I was so happy. Needless to say, her daddy couldn’t find her at my place—she had blocked him out—and we had one hell of a good time. I think she stayed with me for a full week, and all we did was fuck. Oh, man, that was awesome, having her in my bed for the first time. I knew that we were tied up at the hip from then on, and it made my heart just soar.

DANI:  Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person teach you?

SKRIKER: Harry, the dude who pulled me off the streets when I was thirteen and made me what I am today. Never thought I would say that about a werewolf. But Harry isn’t your average were. He’s a good guy, for one thing. He gave me a home, a family, after mine had been torn away from me and I had no one. He taught me skills for the fight cage and the hunt that I will always be grateful to have learned. He taught me how to ride a motorcycle, work on a car, fight hand-to-hand, load and fire a gun. Hell, the guy made me a fucking celebrity through his club, The Beelzebub, and I’m pretty much rich from it. I won’t tell you what I’m worth exactly, but it’s a hell of a lot, I’ll say that—and I owe all of it to Harry. Without him, God alone knows what would have happened to me out in the wide world.

DANI: Who has been the kindest to you in your life?

SKRIKER: In all truth? Probably Gretchen, Harry’s daughter. She’s like a little sister to me. When she first saw me, I was this big dirty homeless kid that her dad lugged in off the street as a charity case. And I was pissed—at that time, I was probably more animal than human…er…Halfling. She could have been scared of me, or jealous that her dad took me in and raised me as his own. Instead, she embraced me as a playmate and as family. I know that, deep down, she’s always loved me in a non-family sort of way, if you get my drift, but she has never acted jealous of any of the girls I was with, including Rose. She only supports what I choose to do, and she looks out for me, even though I’m so much bigger. (He laughs heartily.) I love that little weregirl like nuts. She and Rose get along well, too, but that’s because Gretchie is so generous in here. She gets along with pretty much anyone—even my somewhat standoffish lady love. (He taps his chest lightly with two fingers.)

DANI: It’s been said that after they pass away, the most important people in our lives “live within us.” Is there anyone from your past that lives within you?

SKRIKER (quietly): My dad, for sure. Yeah, he was a nasty demon for a long time, but I’m proud as punch to be his son. He was so good to his family…but he was also an ice-cold badass. The gifts he gave me I wouldn’t trade for the world. It may sound insane, but he made me proud to be half-demon. I miss him like mad sometimes. He was incredible.

DANI: What are you proudest of in your life?

SKRIKER: Saving all the people I have by hunting the Big Bads. I have definitely given Hell a run for their money…and I’m damn proud to be doing it.

DANI: That is so interesting that you kill your own kind. You hate other demons, but you are also so proud to be a Halfling.

SKRIKER: Yeah, I know it sounds weird. But I look at it this way: I can’t change what I am, and a lot of the gifts my dad passed down to me are pretty damn cool. I’m half human, and therefore I have free choice. I choose to use my demonic abilities for good. I save people’s lives using my abilities—and I fuck up other demons in the process. It’s the most beautiful irony I could imagine.

DANI (grinning): Yep, it’s pretty damn cool. Now, I asked Rose this question, so I’m going to ask you, too. When in life have you felt most alone?

SKRIKER: That’s easy, Dani. I felt the most alone when that ‘good Samaritan’ pulled me from my house when my family was attacked and killed, and then just left me standing on the sidewalk, a kid of eleven, watching my house burn down with my mother and kid brother still inside. I had no one to go to—no family, no friends. No one.

DANI: How awful for you. It’s interesting—you and Rose both describe your moments of ultimate aloneness as when you lost your families. Pretty much an identical moment.

SKRIKER (nodding slowly): Yeah, it’s funny how that works, isn’t it?

DANI: Okay, I know that you are technically immortal, being a Halfling, and you won’t die naturally or age past your prime…you lucky bastard.

SKRIKER (laughing): Yeah, it’s pretty sweet!

DANI: But if you were to be killed unnaturally—shot, stabbed, slain by some monster you were hunting—how would you like to be remembered?

SKRIKER (chuckling delightedly and sweeping his fingers through his hair): Oh, boy. Putting me on the spot today…wow. I’d say that I would like to be remembered as the booze-swilling, fun-as-hell Halfling work of art that brought a little comfort to the minds and souls of those who fear what lurks in the darkness.

DANI: Do you have any regrets?

SKRIKER: Yeah, I think every man does. At this point, my biggest regret is that I couldn’t help save my mom or my brother. I was just a damn kid, but I still feel like I should have been able to fend off those demons that attacked and killed them. It still hurts like a sonofabitch to think about it.

DANI: What does your future hold?

SKRIKER: Wow, asking the heavy questions today, are we? I can tell you what I wish for. I want Rose to marry me. For real, with the rings and the church and everything.

DANI: You, a half-demon, want to get married in a church?!

SKRIKER (cracking up): Of course, mama! Demons love churches! And on top of that, I’m Catholic, just like my mama! She was the oddball Swede who converted to Catholicism, and taught me to be the same. I may lapse a bit on the whole confession thing and not attend Mass as often as little old ladies with really big hats, but I still want to get married the proper way. Question is, will Rose marry me period, and if she does, will she do it in a church. She hates churches, ‘cos she feels like all the angels are staring down at her and judging her there. She’d probably want to get married on a beach, or in a forest.

DANI: Would you marry her on the beach or in a forest?

SKRIKER: At this point, I’d marry her anywhere! At least at first…but the vow renewal would HAVE to happen in a church, dammit! She’d do it. I could convince her with my sweet, sweet charm. (He winks and raises a cocky eyebrow.)

DANI (busting up and blushing): Whew! Need to turn the A/C on with you in the house, boy! What else do you see for you and your lady?

SKRIKER: Lots more hunts. And a family. Rose doesn’t think we can conceive…I once asked her if I should start buying rubbers, and she flat out laughed at me. She says that if a demon can knock up an angel, the whole Universe is fucked. But I still have hope that we could have a pup or two…and that our kids would be amazing.

DANI: True enough! So, you two don’t use condoms? Ever?

SKRIKER: Nope. And my dick is reeeeaaaally happy about it.

DANI (laughing): You lucky dog, you! Well, all I can say is that we all hope the future is good for you and that pretty lady of yours! Thanks for joining us, sweetness. It’s always a blast.

SKRIKER: Your welcome, baby. Loves ya.

MY REVIEW
WarningDemon’s Slave is dark erotica and not intended for the faint of heart. I read some negative comments about this book on Goodreads. I have to disagree with those negative comments. Going into this book I was expecting a dark and twisted read and that is exactly what I received. There is a warning in the blurb, so you know straight up what you’re receiving and to read at your own caution. So I’m really unsure what the naysayers were expecting.

I loved this story from the first sentence! The story is graphic, somewhat abusive and hardcore paint/torture type of BDSM. Had Skriker been something other than a demon bad boy, I would have been turned off by some of his actions. But he’s been granted Mastership over his half-angel girlfriend. I wouldn’t expect a demon to treat her sweetly, that’d be unrealistic. Does he go too far at times…hell yes! But, I repeat, he’s a demon, he should go too far. If he hadn’t pushed her boundaries, I would’ve had issues with this story. I found myself loving Skriker in one paragraph, hating him in the next and loving him all over again in the next chapter. Anyway you look at it, that’s good writing. My only complaint was how much Skriker ‘smirked’.

The heat level of this book is mind blowing…the flush your cheeks and wet your panties kind of heat! It’s a short read full of erotic exploits. I couldn’t put it down. This book is definitely not for you if you’re against violent sex. It’s been a long time since I’ve read something this raw and gritty. What a nice change from what the publishing industry normally offers us. I will be hunting for more books by Danielle Smith!

BLURB OF DEMON'S SLAVE

Rose, Nephil daughter of a Warrior of Heaven, has betrayed her celestial heritage by falling for the guy from the wrong side of the tracks: Skriker, tattooed half-demon hunter, and the most irresistible chunk of hard meat that she has ever taken to her bed.

Rose knows that there is no love in all of Creation more forbidden than that between an angel and a demon, and that knowledge has left her terribly fragmented, despite her passionate love for her Halfling bad boy.

As Skriker's "Dirty 30" approaches, she will offer him the ultimate birthday gift: she will be his devoted sexual slave for three days and three nights, laying aside her angelic pride to fully commit to his pleasure (and hers) with every part of her being...and neither Heaven nor Hell will have any power to stop it.

**Publisher's Warning: This sordid tale contains graphic BDSM sex, including forceful oral and anal sex, bondage, blindfolding, slapping/spanking, nipple clamps, toe-curling dirty talk, hot wax, and crazy hardcore sex in a church.**
