Hellish Guest Author Charisma Knight

Please welcome Author Charisma Knight onto the Road to Hell. Charisma Knight is the author and publisher of Reaper’s Fragile Ego, Book One of the Death Angel Series. (Psst! Readers should know there is a bonus free read in the story when you purchase from Amazon!)

Other books written by Charisma Knight is Claiming Julia which is due for release Friday June 15th from Amira Press.

Now, it’s time to create a little hell and get to the good stuff by revealing all of Charisma’s wicked secrets while on the Road to Hell. LOL Yeah, you wish! ;-D

Grab your favorite drink, sink your teeth into something decadent, sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know Charisma Knight…

GRACEN: Tell me three things about yourself that we cannot find on the internet or in your bio?

Charisma: I love to cook, make flower arrangements, and in the process of pursuing my Associate’s Degree.

GRACEN: What hobbies and interests do you participate in when you’re not writing?

CHARISMA: I can be found horsing around with my daughters and Significant Other when I’m not writing. I have a large family, a niece and five nephews so they’re like my adopted children. LOL

In addition to taking them to movies, the pool, swimming, or just running loose somewhere in the park I’m teaching them how to become entrepreneurs. I think having your own business should be instilled in children as they grow older. Talents can be turned into successful businesses. They are creative in art, writing, and many other things so I just have the drive to teach them to hit the ground running.

No one knows what this world will be like a few years from now. I want them to be prepared, go to college and enjoy doing what they like. That’s what I’m doing. Writing is my first business and being in the health care industry is my second business. It feels great to have flexible hours and not having to work. I absolutely love what I do, so it isn’t work to me.

GRACEN: Do you have any writing quirks or certain things you MUST have or do before beginning the writing process?

CHARISMA: Honestly, there are no quirks. A few years ago I definitely needed music when I started writing, but now that has changed. I’ve gotten into the habit of not having music or any television on while writing.

GRACEN: If you were plotting to take over the world, how would you go about it?

CHARISMA: I’d definitely have to draw up some blueprints on this. Perhaps maybe even contact that little white mouse from the cartoons….??

GRACEN: If you could make one statement that the entire planet would hear and remember, what would it be?

CHARISMA: Always be kind to others you encounter and please be helpful to each other. Success should not make your head so big that you can’t walk through the freaking door. Karma is a bitch, remember that. No one is so successful they can’t take time out to help someone else to achieve their destiny.

GRACEN: What genre do you write and why that genre?

CHARISMA: I write paranormal erotic romance/erotica. Why? Because, I absolutely love this genre! As a teen I received my aunt’s old romance books and I found myself writing (in my head) the closed-door scenes between the hero and heroine.

GRACEN: For those who are not yet familiar with you, can you please give us some details about your book(s) and/or series?

CHARISMA: I just released Reaper’s Fragile Ego, the first book in my Death Angel series dealing with Willa Mae(my feisty heroine) and Death Angel, Bane. Bane’s pissed because Will has stolen another soul from him and he’s in the midst of figuring out how to bring her to her knees. (Literally)

My hero has loved Will for a millennia, only she didn’t return that love and crushed his heart. (She truly didn’t mean to) With help from Despair, Bane concocts a plan to get Will within his grasp. Only thing is, Will has a secret my Death Angel didn’t know about….LOL  So, needless to say, he’s rather surprised at the end. That’s all I can say.

GRACEN: Do you have any new stories in the works and can you tell us a bit about it/them?

CHARISMA: New stories in the works include my science fiction piece that has decided to take on a new direction. I’ve had to re-write the plot several times to get things to my liking. I’m really starting to think my muse has associates covering her shift when she takes off. Seriously. Anyway, I thought I’d be finished with that story about a week ago. LOL

Anyway, this story is set in the year 2150 and deals with a totalitarian society where cybernetic organisms have taken over.

Another planet has been discovered and my hero/heroine are coming to turns with certain turning points in their relationship. Originally this was to be a short erotic story of 15K about a woman and a cyborg having hot sex. LOL My muse(s) had other things in mind. There is now a large emotional quality to this story and I really didn’t see that one coming.

GRACEN: If you could describe your writing with one word or brief phrase, what would it be? Please delve into the core of your writing to tell us what word or phrase you want readers to take with them when they’ve finished reading your story.

CHARISMA: Daring.

GRACEN: What, in your opinion, makes your story unique and what makes it stand out from other stories in your genre? Think of this as a pitch to convince readers to pick up your books.

CHARISMA: Wow, this is really hard to say because there are so many awesome books in our genre out there! I really haven’t seen many books written about death. I know there are Reaper stories out there, but they are few and far in between when it comes to other creatures such as dragon shifters, wolves, vampires, and shifters.

Death Angel came about because there has been so many deaths in our family last year and this year. I’ve been neutral during the entire process of loss because although I cried, I really didn’t break down. Many family members had been sick and I felt quite relieved because they no longer suffer.

There was a point in time where I became angry towards death because it visited my family so much. I started writing a story about a woman losing her husband, but I’ve put that one aside. Well, the ole muse started whispering in my ear and the Death Angel Series was created, with a double helping of erotica. LOL

Along with death comes the anxiety of dealing with certain emotions as well. If you don’t cry at the funeral, you’re looking around at other people who are crying their eyes out and you ask yourself, “What the hell is wrong with you? Why aren’t you crying?” Not sure, I guess I was just dealing with everything in my own unique way.

GRACEN: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?

CHARISMA: Tee Hee. In the name of research, my better half and myself enjoyed a rather explicit night out on the town. Yes, after a nice movie we went to the Inner Harbor and then to Little Italy to eat. We both had a little too much to drink and had a rather—um fun experience in the parking garage. It wasn’t planned, and I really wouldn’t call it research, but it did give me a hell of an idea for stories. We were actually able to capture that euphoric moment you experience at the fear of getting caught. What a rush!

GRACEN: Of all your books, which character did you have the most fun creating and why?

CHARISMA: Out of all my books I’ve had the most fun creating Willa Mae. She’s the Angel of Will in Reaper’s Fragile Ego who gives the Death Angel, Bane a run for his money. She’s strong, yet dainty and she’s damned clever!

GRACEN: If you had the opportunity to meet just one of your characters in real life, who would it be and why?

CHARISMA: I’d love to meet Willa Mae. Perhaps because this story is still fresh in my mind, I don’t know. It has been quite some time since I’ve been intrigued with my characters.

GRACEN: Which of your characters would you never want to meet under any circumstance and why?

CHARISMA: You know, I’m not really sure. Out of all my books I created, I actually love all of my characters, some more than others I’ll admit.

GRACEN: If you were interviewing yourself, what is the one question you would ask yourself and please give us the answer to that question?

CHARISMA: Why did I start writing erotica/erotic romance? I’ve been asked this before and I’ve even asked myself the same question. Because, I enjoy writing sexy tales. While I’m attracted to writing in author genres, I find that writing erotica is a great way for me to express myself because yes, I enjoy sex. Sex is beautiful in all forms, from gentle lovemaking, right down to the fiery hot passionate rough play.

Sex is especially hot when you have that one real life sexy alpha male hero. He’s my better half and my soul mate. We’ve read almost every erotic book I own together and we bounce ideas off each other too. Together, we take the world by storm and I know there is nothing in this world he wouldn’t do for me. He’s proven that to me so many times over the years.

GRACEN: Thanks so much for joining us, Charisma! It’s been a treat getting to know you better and discovering your books!

BLURB:

Death comes in various forms. Seductive and sometimes violent, the Reaper pervades into life like a thief in the night, and you’ll never know when he may strike. He holds a secret desire, one which has haunted him for a millennia, an obsession for an entity opposite of himself. If he could conquer her? Her powers of light and strength would complete his majesty of darkness.
The Angel of Willpower, Willa Mae finds that her strength may be her downfall, as she fights hard to permeate mankind with the will to survive. In her quest to imbue hope and strength to those who despair, she steps on Death’s toes and he vows revenge on the dark beauty.
After all, the Death Angel, Bane has a reputation to maintain, but how well will he deal with a blow to his fragile ego once he learns the truth about the object of his coveted obsession?  A revelation that shatters his ideal of the Angel of a seemingly innocent Will.

EXCERPT: (any heat level as this is an 18+ site)

Bane stood like a malevolent statue of marbled wrath, his fury filling the room, the essence of apocalyptic destruction almost suffocating her.
“I’m sorry darling, really I am,” she taunted before seductively licking her lips. Will didn’t know why she enjoyed teasing the Death Angel so much. She just did, maybe it was his self-serving ego that was filled with plagues and blood drenched ideals.  He focused so much on developing a powerful image to the world that he entirely neglected to see that he had his own vulnerabilities to deal with.
Willa took as much pleasure in mocking him as she did molding weak humans into strong-willed people.
The master of endings continued to suffocate her with his wraithlike essence, without laying a finger on her. She closed her eyes, almost succumbing to the delicious asphyxiation.  She moaned with the overpowering intoxication which penetrated her ethereal power as she helplessly gyrated her hips while Bane reached out and tweaked a nipple.
“You,” he whispered breathlessly. You’re so wickedly cruel.” He shook his head as he stepped out of his long black cloak. It’s a shame I must torture you tonight, Will. I don’t really want to hurt you,” he paused as a wicked gleam filled his eyes—“much, but you’ve made a fool out of me for the very last time.”
As Bane circled her, he reached out to touch her satiny brown skin, allowing his fingertips to rake across her flesh. Struggling against her restraints, she closed her eyes and savored his touch. It felt like flames were dancing in the wake of his fingertips. Slowly, with a sensual slide, they eased their way along the inside of her thigh. “These are in the way,” he growled as he looked into her into her eyes and grasped the lacey thong, tearing the flimsy material from her body.
Glorious, silky looking thick black hair framed his stern face, and the look in his blazing eyes warned her that most likely, he’d ravish her until the sun rose.
For a brief moment, she yearned to know what the deep, mouth-to-mouth kiss of the Reaper would feel like.
“Mmm,” he murmured. “I knew you would like that.” His hand crept further along her thigh. “Ohh, Will. I do believe I’ve found your weakness.”
“I’m not weak, I assure you.”
He arched his brow. “Oh? That explains why you’re so damned wet and ready to be fucked.” Bane disappeared for a few moments, and suddenly reappeared holding a large black chest adorned with silver studs.
An alarm went off inside her head as he pumped his cock several times. The large thickly veined member appeared to grow, not just longer, but thicker. She swallowed hard as he retrieved a black whip from the chest.
“So. You wish to experience the exquisite Kiss of Death?”
Willa shuddered at the thought, because she knew she’d enjoy all the wickedly sinful pleasure Bane had to offer her. “No, I do not.” She was determined  to make this at least a little difficult for him. “As a matter of fact baby, I have a little surprise for you.”
“What might that be?”
Willa let out a devilish laugh. “You’ll see.”

CHARISMA:  Gracen, thank you so much for having me on your blog. You must come over to mine one day!
