GRACEN: Tell me three things about yourself that we
cannot find on the internet or in your bio?
CYNDI:
I absolutely LOVE chocolate. I love watching scary movies, and winter is my
favorite time of year. Boring, I know lol
GRACEN:
What hobbies and interests do you participate in when you’re not writing?
CYNDI:
Reading! I’m a huge book worm, but I’ve been slacking since I starting
publishing my own work.
GRACEN:
Do you have any writing quirks or certain things you MUST have or do before
beginning the writing process?
CYNDI:
I have to have a certain music playlist ready.
GRACEN:
If you were plotting to take over the world, how would you do it?
CYNDI:
Hmm…interesting question. Let’s see, I’d obviously need to find an evil
scientist who’s trustworthy enough to create a formula that would give me some
form of extraordinary powers. While that is being divulged I’d assemble a team
of…heck that all sounds too hard. Why not go back to the future style? Have a
car take me back to the past, give my younger self the keys to being very
powerful in the future and *poof!” there you have it lol.
GRACEN: What genre do you write and why that genre?
CYNDI:
I love writing Paranormal and Contemporary Romances. Paranormal because I love
the element of anything happening as well as the aspect of other beings being
among us. I love writing Contemporary because I’m a sucker for a good old
fashioned girl falls in love with boy story as well.
GRACEN:
For those who are not yet familiar with CYNDI HARRIS, can you please give us
some details about the book and/or series?
CYNDI:
Sure, my newest book entitled “Finding His Mrs. Right” is about Landon Brooks,
the high powered CEO of his own empire. Landon hires Tessa Winters, the young
fast rising Matchmaker to find him love. Along the way, we find that Landon and
Tessa struggle with some issues from their past while possibly falling in love.
This book is part of a new series I call “Mending Hearts”. Although this book
is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone book.
GRACEN: Do you have any new stories in the works and
can you tell us a bit about it/them?
CYNDI:
Right now I’m working on book two of the Mending Hearts Series. This one is a
NA (New Adult) book and focuses on a young man named Cameron Ryan. It’s written
from his point of view, and that’s about all I’ll give away for now.
GRACEN:
If you could describe your writing with one word or brief phrase, what would it
be? Please delve into the core of your writing to tell us what word or phrase
you want readers to take with them when they’ve finished reading your story.
CYNDI:
Breathtaking
GRACEN:
What, in your opinion, makes your story unique and what makes it stand out from
other stories in your genre? Think of this as a pitch to convince readers to
pick up your books.
CYNDI:
I think what makes me unique is the fact I’m able to connect the dots well in
my story, where a lot of authors don’t. I feel that I also allow my characters
to grow, but the biggest thing is the fact that I don’t fall into the fad of
the moment. I don’t write books just because I think they’ll sell at that
moment. If a character is speaking to me, I follow that. I write what’s true to
me. Everyone won’t love and agree with me, but that’s comes with the territory
lol.
GRACEN:
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?
CYNDI:
I’ve actually spent days on end on one subject and I write it out like I’m
doing a paper. If I write about something easily searchable in history and it
has anything at all to do with my story, I make sure I have the facts right.
GRACEN:
Of all your books, which character did you have the most fun creating and why?
CYNDI:
Oh man, that’s a hard question! I enjoyed making up a guy named Marshall. You
guys haven’t bet him yet, but hopefully next year you will J I loved writing him because of his growth and because he
was the first character I’d ever typed out seriously.
GRACEN:
If you had the opportunity to meet just one of your characters in real life,
who would it be and why?
CYNDI:
Hmm…I’d say Lucien. He’s a bad ass demon with the heart of gold.
GRACEN:
Which of your characters would you never want to meet under any circumstance
and why?
CYNDI:
Definitely Samael! He’s the Angel of Death…no one I’d want to run into in any
circumstance lol
GRACEN: If you were interviewing yourself, what is
the one question you would ask yourself and please give us the answer to that
question?
CYNDI:
Why did you decide to become a writer?
My
Answer: Simple, growing up, I’d read books or see movies, and always thought
this is cool, but it would be better if that happened. I’d always figure a book
or movie out before it ended and I grew bored. So, at a very early age, I began
writing all the ideas out. I want to one day see my books on the big screen.
That was always my dream, but if that never happens, at least my words are in a
book for others to enjoy.
GRACEN: Thanks so much for joining us, CYNDI HARRIS! It’s been a treat getting to know you
better!

EXCERPT:
He was so close that I
could smell the fresh soap scent, of the soap that he’d just washed with. His
wet body pressed against me, and got my clothes damp. My heart was screaming
for me to run, but my body wanted me to stay. I knew having a hot night with
Landon Brooks would be a mistake, but I couldn’t seem to want to run in the
other direction.
“My life—it’s not exactly
how it seems. I’m a pretty messed up individual.” He admitted.
“You’re not messed up.” I
said, trying to lighten his mood.
I could see by the look on
his face, that he was being totally serious. As much as I wanted to learn more
about Landon, I didn’t want to learn it while he was drunk. I didn’t want him
to regret saying intimate details about his life with me.
“I could write a book about
how damaged I am. The hardest part of my day, is acting like I’m perfect.” He
said seriously, keeping eye contact with me.
“Landon—” I started, but
whatever I was going to say had been stopped by his mouth.
Landon had caught me off
guard for the second time in two nights. He had taken my mouth as his, and to
my surprise his breath was fresh. I was glad he used the toothbrush and
mouthwash in his bathroom. Without warning, Landon grabbed my waist and tugged
me even closer. Against my will, my arms reached up and my fingers got tangled
in his hair.
The kiss was hot and
explosive!
