Rites of Spring Blog Hop!

Your first kiss….do you remember what it was like? The excitement? The thrill? Who it was with and how old you were?

For me it was exciting and awkward because it was the first kiss for both of us. He was a male friend and we decided to try each other out to see what all the fuss was about. It was a little lacking, but I at least didn’t give it up. I kept kissing and it got better. A lot better. And a lot more exciting when I kissed someone I really liked.

For my heroine, Sameya, in Taboo Kisses, she has a lot of firsts. She’s a siren and sirens cannot experience sexual pleasure or arousal unless it’s with their mate. She’s unprepared for all her firsts, and especially the reality that she’s mated not to just a vampyr, but a tiger-shifter, too.

Her first kiss with Maximus—her vampyr mate—is epic and she’s mystified by the riot of emotions and her body’s reaction. I wish my first kiss had been amazing like Sameya’s was. Here’s her first kiss…

He chuckled, and her body reacted with a quiver down her spine to center between her thighs. Again!

Empress’ delights, she disliked the jumbled way he made her feel. Confused one moment and aroused the next.
“What is your name?”
“Call me mate.”
Her breathing died, then escalated. She forced a lame-ass sounding laugh past her lips. “Don’t get cocky. I’m not into leeches.”
“Don’t disqualify me from the running.” He sidled closer, aligning his body against hers once more, but maintaining space with his palms on the mausoleum on either side of her head. “Not when Gabriel and I haven’t had the gratification of making you come…yet.”
She gasped, her eyes rounding at his foregone conclusion. “Better men than you have tried.”
“None of them were your mates.”
“Wait! Mates? As in plural?” She flattened her hands against his chest to push him away, but forgot to add pressure. The hard contours of his body fascinated her more than was practical. “That’s…insane.” But gods the idea fascinated her. “Sirens don’t partner outside our race and we certainly don’t have more than one partner.”
Sameya didn’t realize she spoke the thought aloud until the vampyr thrust both his hands into her hair. After he had her anchored into position, he shifted closer, widening his stride to fit her pelvis between his legs. His hard-on nestled against her abdomen as he tilted her head back by her hair.

“No more insane than a vampyr mating a shifter.” His mouth landed on hers. He nibbled on her bottom lip, licked the corners and crease. Distracted by the exhilarating sensations, she was unprepared to counteract his move when he placed the pad of his thumb against her chin and tugged, parting her lips for his tongue to thrust inside.

Sameya squealed her surprise at the wet contact of his abrasive tongue. His fangs grazed her bottom flesh, and her eyelids snapped upward. He watched her, eyes glowing green. He pulled her tighter against his hard frame as his hand moved down her neck, over a breast, and across her belly to land on the front of her thigh. The fingers in her hair shifted, twisting her head to an angle that deepened the kiss.

I should stop him now before it get out of
The forays into her mouth, thrust inside, withdraw, and repeating the movement, were subtle hints of sex. He fucked her mouth with a skill she’d never known possible. She grew so hot every pore in her body should’ve melted, or at the very least ignited.

Sameya squirmed against him. Needing more of something she couldn’t name. With his tongue in her mouth, thinking straight became impossible.
His hand shifted from her thigh to dive between her legs. She jerked when he rubbed his thumb against her clit. Hard enough she could feel it through her Basilisk skin pants.

Empress save me that feels good. He broke the kiss and lifted his head; his gaze intense as he rubbed her where few had ever touched her. Desire burst in her belly and raced along her flesh.

The vampyr released her suddenly, taking several steps away, his fists opening and closing as he began to pace a small path in front of her.

Sameya slid down the tombstone, panting like she’d raced someone, but that made no sense because running didn’t tire her. But…what had his hand between her legs been creating? The elusive orgasm? She hoped not because that meant this intimidating vampyr would be her mate.

Dispatched to the mortal realm from Atlantis to seek the source of a brewing rebellion, Sameya is thrown for a tailspin when she discovers her fated mates. As a siren her songs entice mankind and immortals alike to their death. She’s stunned to be seduced by a taboo union with a tiger-shifter and vampyr. Taboo Kisses…when the forbidden becomes irresistible.

Gabriel and Maximus have been searching for their mate for centuries. Neither expected the siren they were hired to find would deliver more than a lucrative payday. Frustrated by Sameya’s aversion to their mating, the men anticipate an empty future if she refuses to complete their union. In a rash move Maximus seizes Sameya and holds her captive.

Taboo Kisses…when the siren is serenaded with temptation.

Trapped and at their mercy, Sameya is bombarded with pleasure. Can her mates convince her to take a gamble on their taboo union? With danger lurking in the shadows, will the choice be taken from her?

The Road to Hell series welcomes author Noree Cosper

(click on the above photo to be taken directly to Dark World Books' website)

Please welcome Author Noree Cosper onto the Road to Hell. Noree is the author of A Prescription for Delirium. Other books written by Noree are “Flower of Hell” a short story in the Paramourtal Anthology and “Love and Honor” a short story in the Nocturnal Embers Anthology.

Now, it’s time to create a little hell and get to the good stuff by revealing all of Noree’s wicked secrets while on the Road to Hell. LOL  Yeah, you wish! ;-D

Grab your favorite drink, sink your teeth into something decadent, sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know Noree Cosper…

~~~
GRACEN:  Tell me three things about yourself that we cannot find on the internet or in your bio?
NOREE: Ooh, that’s a good one. Let’s see. 1) Though I’m usually a tomboy, I have a secret guilty pleasure for Shoujo manga and anime. That’s a girl type of Japanese comics and cartoons that focus around a female protagonist, usually full of really pretty boys and there’s romance in it. 2) I have five roommates, all men, one is my boyfriend, but none of us are blood related. 3) I find women incredibly sexy. I’ve even kissed a few, though I’ve only dated men. I don’t see that changing since I’m deeply in love with my boyfriend.
GRACEN: What hobbies and interests do you participate in when you’re not writing?
NOREE: Reading, of course. Most authors probably say that. I’ve been reading since I was a child. I also watching anime (see above), and playing video games. I usually prefer my PC but I do occasionally play off the Playstation. I’m not very good at it, but I like to draw when the mood strikes me.
GRACEN: Do you have any writing quirks or certain things you MUST have or do before beginning the writing process?
NOREE: Not exactly. Though I will get into a certain habit (like writing in hand with only a black pen) and if it gets disturbed (I lose my black pen) I feel off.
GRACEN: If you were plotting to take over the world, how would you do it?
NOREE: Hmm, do I get super powers? II think it would have to be through secrets. Everyone has something they don’t what the world knowing. I would have to get access to the secrets of the world leaders and those that pull their string, then I could be the puppet master. MUHAHAHAHA!
GRACEN: If you could make one statement that the entire planet would hear and remember, what would it be?
NOREE: We need to stop killing each other for small pieces of paper and bits of metal. Greed is truly the ultimate evil.
GRACEN:  What genre do you write and why that genre?
NOREE: I write Urban Fantasy with a bit of Horror thrown in. As in my bio, I’ve always had a fascination with the paranormal. After reading so much of it, I decided I wanted to write the stories I wanted to read.
GRACEN: For those who are not yet familiar with Noree Cosper, can you please give us some details about the book and/or series?
NOREE: A Prescription for Delirium is the first in the Van Helsing Organization series. It focuses on Gabby, an immortal demon hunter (she’s cursed), and the Van Helsings brothers, descendants of Abraham Van Helsing. In this book they meet in order to hunt a devil that killed the Van Helsing’s parents. Of course, the devil has plans of his own and oh, are they nefarious.
GRACEN:  Do you have any new stories in the works and can you tell us a bit about it/them?
NOREE: I am currently writing the second book of the Van Helsing Organization. It picks up several months after the events in the first book and takes place in New York. I don’t want to spoil anything, but let’s just say the proportions will be biblical.
GRACEN: If you could describe your writing with one word or brief phrase, what would it be? Please delve into the core of your writing to tell us what word or phrase you want readers to take with them when they’ve finished reading your story.
NOREE: Riveting
GRACEN: What, in your opinion, makes your story unique and what makes it stand out from other stories in your genre? Think of this as a pitch to convince readers to pick up your books.
NOREE: My characters leap out from the pages at you. This is their story and they are doing things their way. So, a lot of the events that happen are from their choices. Plus, I have a kick ass heroine. There’s action, heart pounding fear, and a little bit of sexiness.
GRACEN: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?
NOREE: Trapped myself in a small area to see what it feels like. My main character is really claustrophobic and I am mildly so. I was trying to get a feel for what type of fear she would be feeling.
GRACEN: Of all your books, which character did you have the most fun creating and why?
NOREE: Hmm, I would have to say Gabby. She is my obsession, my heart.
GRACEN: If you had the opportunity to meet just one of your characters in real life, who would it be and why?
NOREE: I would have to say Adrian. Though he’d be an ass I might be able to talk him into building some great toys for me. Gadgets are cool. J
GRACEN: Which of your characters would you never want to meet under any circumstance and why?
NOREE: I would have to say that I wouldn’t want to meet the villains of my books, especially the main one Ose. I don’t have any special powers or skills. He’d drive me mad.
GRACEN:  If you were interviewing yourself, what is the one question you would ask yourself and please give us the answer to that question?
NOREE: Q: What secret dream do you carry in your heart?
A: Seeing the world. I want to visit all sorts of places, Italy, Greece…Japan. I’m trying to do that one place at a time. I’m planning on ringing in 2014 in Tokyo with my roommates.
GRACEN:  Thanks so much for joining us, Noree!  It’s been a treat getting to know you better!
She suspects the devil is using this madness to test a drug which has a side effect of demonic possession.  Gabby rushes to end the source of the madness only to fall victim to it. For a woman cursed with eternal life, dying is no threat. However, Gabby must stop the devil's plot or risk losing her most precious possession: her mind.
EXCERPT:
My phone buzzed in my pocket. I waved the rest forward and stopped near the place we fought the hellhound. Its trail faded to almost to nothing. What little I could pick up lead to the woods.
“Ciao,” I answered.
“You love me,” John said. “I have your stuff.”
“Good. Meet me outside the asylum in half an hour.”
Tres opened the car for me so I could get my backpack carrying my sundang as well as a few other items. I walked down to the gate to wait for John. It didn’t take long. He handed me a large paper sack as I slid into the car. I sorted through the items before putting them in my bag. The only thing I needed today was the small canister of silvered salve to put on my sword.
“You look worried,” John said.
“Esais is checking into the asylum.”
“And?”
I frowned, staring out the window as we passed the yard. “He might be caught by Ose.”
“He’s a hunter, part of the great lineage. He can take care of himself.”
“But…”
“I wish you’d show this much concern for me.” He kept his eyes on the road and his voice neutral.
“You don’t put yourself in danger like that.”
“You barely know them and you moved into their house.”
“I didn’t have a place to stay.”
“You could have stayed with me.”
“Stop the car.”
He pulled to the side and killed the engine. We were back to the point I’d been trying to avoid since he came to town. Before Hampton I could to laugh these comments off but something about the Van Helsings caused him to push our relationship beyond the friendship wall.
“I don’t want to have sex with you,” I said.
“Liar.”
“It will lead to something more. I can’t deal with another Dimitri.”
“But you’re willing to risk that with his family.”
I threw my hands up in the air. “Where are you getting that?”
“I can see the signs. You’ve only known them for a few days, but you’re worried.”
“They’re his family.”
“But not yours. Don’t expect Christmas cards.”
I nudged him with my elbow. “You don’t send me Christmas cards.”
He laughed. “That’s because you don’t have a permanent address.”
I opened the door. “Thanks for the order.”
“I’ll let you know when I get any information on the drug.”
He grabbed my arm and pulled me closer. His lips brushed against mine. I pressed my thighs together as heat spread from them to my entire body. My legs trembled and I was grateful I sat. His tongue trailed across my cheek to my jawline and down my neck. What was one night? No, it would never be enough for John. I pushed him away.
“Liar,” he said.
I gripped the handle of the car door, not looking at him. “Just because I want you, doesn’t mean I will go through with it.”
I headed into the woods. I hoped I would be fortunate enough to find a hellhound. I needed to relieve some stress.
About the Author:
Noree Cosper
Noree Cosper loves writing about magic in the modern world. While growing up in Texas she constantly searched for mystical elements in the mundane. She buried her nose in both fiction and books about Wicca, Religion, and Mythology. Everyday became an adventure as she joined a group of role-players, acting out her fantasies of vampires, demons, and monsters living in the world. She embraced her nerdom wholeheartedly. Noree grew, but never left her love for fantasy and horror. Her dreams pushed her and her hand itched to write the visions she saw. So, with her fingers on the keys, she did what her heart had been telling her to do since childhood. She wrote.
