The Road to Hell series welcomes author Fierce Dolan

Please welcome Author Fierce Dolan onto the Road to Hell. Fierce is the author of Gigolo Seduction. Other books written by Fierce are Belle du Nuit, and Partner Swap.

Now, it’s time to create a little hell and get to the good stuff by revealing all of Fierce’s wicked secrets while on the Road to Hell. LOL  Yeah, you wish! ;-D

Grab your favorite drink, sink your teeth into something decadent, sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know Fierce…

~~~
GRACEN:  Tell me three things about yourself that we cannot find on the Internet or in your bio?
Fierce: I talk to myself a lot, and no I don’t mean I talk to characters.  Sometimes I get busted for talking to myself while stopped at street intersections.  I just keep talking and act like I have a wireless earbud to my cell.
I once had an erotic editing gig where I got in trouble for changing “cummed” to “came,” because I was altering the writer’s voice.  Seriously.  I didn’t stay there long.
The average American eats 93 pounds of bread each year.  I’m gluten-free, so I hope someone is taking up my slack.
GRACEN: What hobbies and interests do you participate in when you’re not writing?
Fierce: I play computer games.  I know—I’m a geek.  I can’t help it, though.  I love MMORPGs, even though I don’t have much time to play.  I also garden with moderate success.  Mostly I end up feeding the local wildlife.
GRACEN: Do you have any writing quirks or certain things you MUST have or do before beginning the writing process?
Fierce: Quiet.  I must have quiet.  I just can’t write when there’s noise or commotion around me.  I’ve tried and tried to assimilate being a normal person when I write and tolerating usual domestic noise.  Can’t do it.  Sorry love life, sorry needs of others.  Back of the white line when I’m working.
GRACEN: If you were plotting to take over the world, how would you do it?
Fierce: It’s just a plot, right?  Because most likely what would happen is I’d sit down with pen and paper to write down my plot.  I’d get about two lines into it—something about making water a commodity and destroying cable television—then I’d get an idea for some kinky dystopian interspecies tryst and I’d start writing about that instead.  I’m distractible.
GRACEN: If you could make one statement that the entire planet would hear and remember, what would it be?
Fierce: Be nicer.
GRACENWhat genre do you write and why that genre?
Fierce: The base genre that I enjoy writing is erotica, though it meanders from there into paranormal, interracial, fantasy.  I also generally don’t write straight characters, so my cast tends to be a spectrum of queer and multicultural delights.
I like to write erotica because sex and sensuality is so cut off from our cultural experience.  It just feels very sincere and organic to me, and it’s natural that it should be part of the stories we tell.  And I’m a perv.
GRACEN: For those who are not yet familiar with Fierce, can you please give us some details about the book and/or series?
Fierce:  Gigolo Seduction is published by Decadent, and it just came out in May.  It’s a story about unspoken expectations and needs.  You can’t fill needs you don’t speak, and you can’t speak what you don’t know you need.  The main character is Asif, a Persian man who works in the sex trade and thinks he knows everything there is to know about pleasing women.  What he doesn’t know is how to please himself.
GRACEN:  Do you have any new stories in the works and can you tell us a bit about it/them?
Fierce: I’m working on a very experimental paranormal--The Scattered Dark Series--that is the darkest erotica I’ve ever written… on paper.  I sketch dark things in my mind all the time, I just never went on to write them down before.  It’s a unique take on the genre, I think, shapeshifting roles, not just physical forms.  I’ve written the first two books and am working on the final installation.  I hope to have the first one out this year—Journal of a Lycanthrophile..
GRACEN: If you could describe your writing with one word or brief phrase, what would it be? Please delve into the core of your writing to tell us what word or phrase you want readers to take with them when they’ve finished reading your story.
Fierce: Catharsis.  The writing may be awesome or it may suck, but I really hope the story provokes some level of self-scrutiny and inspiration to think differently, to look at the dynamic differently.  I’m very into transparency in my writing, in creating characters and dynamics that don’t fit the mold, but also by not projecting what I think readers should get out of it.  I like to weave the story loosely enough to appeal on a variety of levels.  My writing isn’t for everyone, because I’m not very lovey dovey or fluffy in how I present relationships or even flings.  I just hope that some level of catharsis brings readers to look at dynamics in life differently.
GRACEN: What, in your opinion, makes your story unique and what makes it stand out from other stories in your genre? Think of this as a pitch to convince readers to pick up your books.
Fierce: Gigolo Seduction is different from other interracial romances largely because the main character is a Persian man.  So often readers assume that interracial erotica only encompasses Caucasian and African American characters.  I’ve enjoyed writing Navajo characters, Arabic, Caucasian, Eastern Band Cherokee…  I like the angle of someone from a different culture peering into the general western world, and exploring how that viewpoint approaches relationships and sex differently than more accepted multicultural pairings.  That cultural difference may make the union more spiritual, more taboo, less rudimentary, less clear.
GRACEN: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?
Fierce:  This doesn’t sound very weird on the surface, but roleplaying with characters in a unique way.  I’m very trancey and able to slide into different personas easily, so I use that skill when I write.  An interesting approach to developing a character is not just to switch your viewpoint with the character’s, but switch places with a character that has switched places with another character in the story.  Confused?  I know.  Switch the heads of your characters and walk around with one on.  If you’re stuck in how to develop a scene, do that and you won’t be stuck for long.  It really jogs the synapses.
GRACEN: Of all your books, which character did you have the most fun creating and why?
Fierce: Hee.  Dr. Sinjon Moresh, from Message in a Bottle, which will be out at the end of the year.  He’s very pent up yet sure of himself, until he realizes he doesn’t know himself at all.  I had fun creating this very proper, scholarly man, who learns he has an unexpected and unusual kink.
GRACEN: If you had the opportunity to meet just one of your characters in real life, who would it be and why?
Fierce:  It would be Asif, from Gigolo Seduction, because he’s mad hot and is perfectly comfortable with rubbing his hotness onto others.
GRACEN: Which of your characters would you never want to meet under any circumstance and why?
Fierce: Likely that would be Jesse, from Journal of a Lycanthrophile, the first book in the Scattered Dark series.  He’s kind of an emotional paintball splatter and is definitely into things I want no part of.
GRACEN:  If you were interviewing yourself, what is the one question you would ask yourself and please give us the answer to that question?
Fierce: I’d want to know what is with that damn statue in my profile picture.  I’m not going to answer that, though.  Three beers to anyone who can guess what it is without Googling it!!  No cheating!  Comment with the correct answer and along with that, tell me what statue would be your best likeness, and I’ll make sure you get a free copy of Gigolo Seduction.  I’m keeping the beer, though…
GRACEN:  Thanks so much for joining us, Fierce!  It’s been a treat getting to know you better!
BLURB:
Long in passion’s service, confident Asif enjoys his life as a thirty-something escort, bringing romance into the lives of metropolitan socialite cougars. Gifted at seducing wealthy white MILFs and bringing them endless pleasure, the arrogant Persian eschews investing in a personal life. A chance meeting with young artist, Cass, while on the job at a gala event, changes his perspective on women forever, and unleashes desires Asif never knew he had.
EXCERPT: (any heat level as this is an 18+ site)
“Are your works always so intricate?”
She shakes her head, again scanning the tower, though my eyes stay on her. “Frescoes are always detailed and hard work, but this is way above and beyond. Layering in kinetic elements to give moving light and dimensional depth is my dream project come true. Most of my projects are just frescoes.”
Just frescoes.” I laugh. “They’re noble and valiant relics in the art world.”
“They’re actually in high demand.” Her tone is matter-of-fact. “Though few people can afford them.”
“Well, you’ve outdone yourself here,” I affirm. Her smile is sincere, her pride evident, elegant, enchanting.
“It’s taken quite a long time to come together, and I’ve left the plasterer more than a little frustrated on several occasions.”
“I can’t imagine him staying angry for long….”
“They’ve given me deep creative license over the project, so that’s saved my ass a couple of times. It’s kind of mind-blowing to work on something so limitlessly funded.”
Our eyes lock for mere seconds and the silence is disturbing. “I was just going for a bite to eat. Would you care to join me?”
Cass nods. “I’d like to, but I need to finish this section. This medium doesn’t wait well.”
She’s genuinely interested and I want her to be. I want her to be as affected as I am. Before I can prod further she asks, “Maybe another time?”
Reluctantly, I follow her to the elevator. She opens it with a pass card attached to a cord coiled on the drawstring of her pants. My eyes linger on the brilliant green gem in her navel.
“What’s your name?”
“Asif,” I reply without hesitating. The sound is bare, like a secret revealed, though I don’t understand why. I always use my real name.
“Another time, Asif.”
The doors slide closed, and I agree.
    Thank you for the opportunity to read one of your stories, Fierce.
    As far as the statue goes, I am not sure what it is. I am not that familiar with them.
