To Snarl or Snuggle by Katya Armock

To Snarl or Snuggle

by Katya Armock

Tour Organizer: N K Author Services

She just wants to make it through her whirlwind wedding. Too bad life isn’t cooperating.

Chloe thinks her life is just about perfect. She’s finally got her psychic abilities under control, her relationship with her father has never been better, and she’s finally marrying her shape-shifter boyfriend Jorge. But when a teenage shape-shifter in need of help leads Jorge’s rival to their door, Chloe’s perfect life deserts her. Chloe’s mother and grandmother find themselves in a psychic feud that leaves Chloe caught in the wake, and a woman with suspect motives insinuates herself into Chloe’s life. Throw in a shocking revelation about the origins of her family’s extrasensory abilities, and she’s not sure she’ll make it down the aisle in one piece, let alone live long enough for a happily ever after…

And she thought meeting her in-laws was tough.

I like books that are funny and fun to read (and hot!) but also make me think or look at the world in a new way.
These days you’ll find me writing, pet sitting, juggling a number of freelance gigs, and reigning as my home’s domestic goddess. I live in the Midwestern U.S. with my husband, dog and cats. Alas, I have, as of yet, been unable to teach my husband how to purr.

Now, it’s time to create a little hell and get to the good stuff by revealing all of John Hennessy’s wicked secrets while on the Road to Hell. LOL  Yeah, you wish! ;-D

Grab your favorite drink, sink your teeth into something decadent, sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know John Hennessy…

~~~
GRACEN: If you could pick one thing about our world to change, what would it be and why?
John: Sounds twee, but I’d like to get rid of all the bad people. As I get older, I’m less bothered about what used to annoy me as a teenager. I just want people to get along!
GRACEN: Kind of morbid, but if you knew the exact moment of your death, down to the last second, what changes would you make in your life?
John: I’ve experienced some moments that but for a lot of luck and some grace I think really could have been my last moments. I think I would try to worry less and smile more.
GRACEN: If I picked a television show or sitcom that fit my family, it would be the Addams Family because we’re all a bit odd and zany. What one television show/sitcom would best describe your family? Or if none apply, pick a song or album.
John: Haha I think they might just be the Mansons, whilst trying to convince the world they are the Waltons.
GRACEN: Pretend you’re writing a book about your life. What would the title be and why?
John: That’s such a great question. So good, I cannot come up with an answer right now!
GRACEN: What song title best describes your style of writing? (Use any song in existence or create your own).
John:  Taking Care of Business J
GRACEN: If you had superpowers would you be the superhero or the villain? Why? What would your name be?
John: Well my name on video game arcade machines was ‘Marmaliser’…so I suppose the villain. As to why, I think all actorss say they like play bad guys once in a while. I think I would agree with that.
GRACEN: Do you have a guilty pleasure? If so, will you share it with us?
John: I can share that with nobody!
GRACEN: You’re stranded on an island, who would you want to be stranded with and why?
John: Natalie Portman instantly springs to mind, but I think I might just prefer to be on my own. Peace is found from within, not necessarily in the company of others.
GRACEN: Now, let’s get to know you as an author. When did you become aware that you wanted to be a published author?
John: Honestly I just put some notes together for my first book, the non-fiction Essence of Martial Arts, and it was a student who recommended I stretch it out into a full book. As for fiction, I suppose it appeals to the part of me that likes to tell stories, in the hope that others will like what I write too.
GRACEN: Are there any particular authors that made an impact on you growing up or as an adult? Did any particular teacher or someone else in your life make an impact on your writing?
John: It was Stephen King as a teen and an adult that most impacted on me. At his best, his in another dimension to all other authors, and at his worst, his books are still compelling and well written. He’s just awesome.
GRACEN: Do you have any “must haves” while you’re writing—besides your computer, of course?
John: Tea, and more tea.
GRACEN: Do you write in a particular genre? If so, what’s the appeal of that genre for you?
John: I write whatever comes to mind. But I do like horror stories, and I suppose if you saw my collection of Fangoria magazines, you’d understand why.
GRACEN: Any love/hates as it relates to the writing industry?
John: Not particularly – I tend not to focus on the ‘hates’ as that could run and run. As for the ‘loves’, it’s great when people comment positively on what you have written.
GRACEN: Do you have a Muse? If yes, what’s his/her name(s). Why do you think some authors have a muse and other authors don’t?
John:  Not yet, but I might do for a future title. I think some authors try this just to escape from the shackles of their given name, and I don’t blame them for trying.
GRACEN: If you could live the life of any one of your characters, who would it be and why? Would you do things differently in real life than he/she did in the book?
John: As we create the characters, maybe we would make the same choices in real life. It would be hard to choose one….if I had to nail it down, I think Toril from Dark Winter is interesting because she is not a fully formed witch, and has much to learn, yet survive the story whilst doing so. Not wanting to reveal too much on Stormling at this point, I love Anadyr’s life….he’s a real hero, super-fearless, and yet has his vulnerabilities that make him what he is.
GRACEN: What are you working on now?
John: Editing and re-drafting Dark Winter 2, and a vampire novella called Murderous Little Darlings.
GRACEN: What makes your books stand out from other books in your genre? (Use this as an opportunity to sale folks on your book!)
John: I read a lot in the YA genre and an irk of mine is how one dimensional some of the characters are. I’ve attempted to write strongly written characters that can resonate with the reader. Put them in a clearly defined world, and I think you have a solid, very readable story.
GRACEN:  Thanks so much for joining us, John Hennessy!  It’s been a treat getting to know you better!
John Hennessy is a young adult / new adult novelist whose works to date have been Dark Winter (published 2013), a paranormal horror thriller, and Stormling, an epic swords and magic (and cookies) fantasy. The first short story he ever wrote brought together Fagan, Lizzie Bennet, Sherlock Holmes and Dracula, which despite impressing his long suffering English teacher, thankfully remains unpublished. For recreation he will visit paranormal hotspots, but prefers to write about ghosts rather than meet them. He also believes almost any problem can be overcome so long as there is an inexhaustible supply of tea and biscuits. He has also written the non-fiction title The Essence of Martial Arts (published 2011), and released The Essence of Martial Arts: Special Edition, in 2014.
Kingdoms of War by Lisa Beth Darling
KINGDOMS OF WAR
BOOK #6 OF WAR SERIES
LISA BETH DARLING
Blurb—
With nearly four billion souls lost to the ravages of anarchy and the dreaded disease Major Falls, Ares and Raven journey the Mortal World vainly reaching for a sliver of what was only to discover what will be. Unleashed by Apollo, Major Falls—a weaponized version of the flu and rabies-- has wiped out every person of watery Mortal Blood.
From the fiery wreckage a new world is slowly arising one where the descendants of Olympians, Celts, Dark Fae, and all manner of Magickal Being will rule. For the last millennium the Dark Kingdom has sent small legions of its Daughters in search of its Lost Queen. Among their number is Lenora, a sharp tongued Dark Fae who joins up with ARES hoping to get close to its leader, Raven. And she does.
The Wolf inside the God of War contracts Major Falls. As Ares and Athena wander the world hoping to curtail further damage by obliterating weapons of mass destruction he slowly succumbs to the sickness taking over his fevered rabid mind. Ares may not live to see the glory of Olympus restored nor fight to keep his Wife. If he does, how high will be the price for Ares' life? How long will Alena have to keep paying Apollo even once Ares is crowned King of Olympus?
EXCERPT-ADULT:
Ares' hips moved upward in a meaningful stroke, he pierced through her body penetrating deep into her snug walls slick with waiting, making her flinch, making her cringe and shudder. She shrank away from him a moment. The hand cupping her bottom went to her jaw to hold it firmly, "You fear me?  Your Lover?"
There was no flinching or hesitation, "Never."
As she slumped against him, sliding further down on him, Ares dark eyes rolled back in his head until only the whites showed below his fluttering lids. For a second his knees threatened to give out he began sinking to floor.  Letting go of her wrists pinned above her head he expected her arms to fall limp at her sides but they didn't they wrapped around him filling him with a new strength as they raked across his back and called to his wild nature.  Feeling the fire explode to a full grown inferno, Ares stood up again planting his hand on her ass, the palm encircling her jaw eased over her chin, caressed her neck, just before it clamped around her throat as his lips closed down over hers, he felt it work hard as his tongue invaded her mouth, cutting off her air.  The legs around his waist squeezed, the wet walls suckling his cock swelled, and instead of fighting for precious air she kept her legs locked tight, using her thighs to pump up and down on him, to grind against him and welcome him home.
For what seemed forever, lost in the velvet embrace of pleasure, Ares forgot himself.  It was easy given her enthusiastic reception.  He bent deeply at the knees, surging upward time and again with a quickening pace that she did not deny but encouraged with rocking grinding hips and her talented tongue.  With the intoxicating scents of musk, honeysuckle, and the deep green of the forest filling the air, he reached down to plant his forearm under her for her ass to rest upon.  He found the soft flesh slick with the oil of their lovemaking, so he gripped the cold rock for better purchase.
Liking her new perch, Alena kept going, she kept grinding and writhing, taking all of him inside as she moaned with the bliss of passion.  The sweet sound echoing in his head making it even lighter, until he thought he'd float away with rest of the world and all of its cares.
Title: Keys to Her Heart
Author: Lacey Wolfe
Tour Organizer: N K Author Services
Love happens when you least expect it.
Officer Cody Duncan gave up on love years ago. Or so he thought.  He was content with his quiet solitary life, until a clumsy waitress spilled hot coffee on his pants and turned his world upside down. Suddenly, there’s a new heat in his life, filled with cravings for things he once pushed aside.
Lily Jenkins’ busy life as a single mom and primary caretaker for her elderly mother leaves little time for herself. Struggling to adjust to a new life in a small town, her focus is too easily derailed by the gorgeous man she accidentally spilled hot coffee on. Knowing she has too much already going on, Lily vows to keep Cody at a distance, even though she craves him in ways she never thought possible.
Their attempts at simple friendship continually fail as they soon discover an untamable fire between them whenever they are alone together.
Seeing a life he never imagined for himself, will Cody have the patience to wait for the woman of his dreams? Will Lily finally let go and give Cody the Keys to Her Heart?
Excerpt
Once Gunther was buckled into his father’s car, Lily leaned in and hugged him tight. “I’m going to miss you so much. Don’t grow too much over the weekend.”
“Mom.” Gunther rolled his eyes. “I’ll be home tomorrow.”
She kissed his cheek. “Don’t roll your eyes at me, and I love you. Call if you need me.” Lily closed the door and spun around to Heath. “Drive safe. Text me when you get home.”
“Will do.” He pulled the keys from his pocket. “Enjoy some time to yourself.”
Lily leaned against her car and watched as they drove off. She should be feeling the excitement of freedom. She could do whatever she wanted for the next day, but instead, she missed her son the second the car was out of her sight.
She picked up the coffee she’d set on the hood and took a long drink. She glanced out at the park. A few people were out running this morning. God, she wished she had that kind of determination. Lily was one of those people, if you saw her running, you should run yourself, since something was most likely chasing her.
One runner caught her attention just as he stopped a few feet in front of her. He leaned over, hands on his knees as he caught his breath.
“Cody.”
His head turned, looking at her. Sweaty and sexy. He wore a pair of navy athletic shorts and a white wife beater. And, oh God, the muscles on his arms. She’d not expected to see those. Damn, she really wanted to wrap her hands around them and see if they were as hard as they appeared.
“Hey.” He stood straight.
“You okay?” Cody seemed winded. “Do you run often?”
He chuckled. “I do. However, I just extended my sprint. Pushing myself this morning.”
“Oh, okay.”  She knew nothing about running, but assumed that meant he was running as fast as he could.
“What are you doing out here?” He ran his hands through his damp hair.
“Gunther just went with his dad.” So I’m free.
“Do you have any plans?”
Say yes. Lily didn’t need to get mixed up with him right now. A boyfriend—or whatever he would be—would be one more thing in her life she just didn’t have time for. However, as he stood before her, his shirt clinging to his chest and his hair a sexy, wet mess, she couldn’t find the courage to lie. She had all weekend to get that pedicure, after all. “Nothing set in stone.”
“I’d love to take you out.” He cleared his throat. “If you’d like. No pressure.”
“What did you have in mind?” Anything he came up with would be fun.
“I need a shower. How about I come pick you up in about two hours and we’ll go find something fun to do?”
She shook her head. “Not my house. I’d rather meet you someplace.”
He raised an eyebrow, but didn’t push. “Okay. Eleven here?”
“That works.”
“Good. I’ll see you soon.” He winked and flashed her his incredibly sexy smile.
Lily nodded as she reached behind her to grab the door handle. Only, she hadn’t realized she’d moved several steps toward him. And in her attempt to grab the car handle, she’d lost her balance, landing on her backside.
Her cheeks burned. Why did she keep doing stupid things in front of this man?
“Are you okay?” Cody knelt down. “You’ve got to stop falling.”
